The re-start of Rakkoon.com

Rakkoon.com has been given CPR and is now back among the living… and boring. After having had a blog for over two years on this domain my thoughts eventually ran dry, so I decided to remove it and forget about the whole “I am a blogger” thing. I’ve now had an MSN Space for quite some time, which works well for me, but there are some drawback. For example; if you want to change your MSN email address, you either have to switch between accounts just to keep your old space active, or you end up losing it when you delete your passport account. After having had a blog for over two years on this domain my thoughts eventually ran dry, so I decided to remove it and forget about the whole “I am a blogger” thing. Don’t worry, I won’t start copying and pasting all the boring crap from my space to this site. It’s supposed to be a fresh start.

It’s supposed to be a fresh start. It did take some real hard thinking before I was able to make up my mind about what I wanted to do. Should I register a new domain, or perhaps go for a free hosted blog (like on blogger.com), or perhaps it’d be better to just let the whole thing go…. I ended up going for reviving Rakkoon.com by setting up hosting at GoDaddy.com. The cost sure wasn’t something to stop me, and getting the choice of several blogging/CMS applications for free with no hassle of installing anything definitely helped me make up my mind.

At first I opted to install Mambo, but it’s such a pain in the ass to get working the way I wanted it to, that I decided to just download and install WordPress. I got it uploaded and installed in less than 2 minutes (after the DB was created) and easily edited a theme so it’d have my own logo. Good enough for me at least for now.

About Rakkoon

I'm me, nobody important. Always busy, always bored, nothing to say, but never quiet.
